Ed Sheeran continues to work his way into the hearts of millions across the globe with his infectious hip-hop hooks, and his summer tour through North America saw select dates sell out in minutes. Beginning May 6 at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Sheeran will play 35 dates through July 3, when he wraps at Summerfest in Milwaukee.
Sold-out dates include stops include two nights at Forest Hills Stadium in New York City, the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Additional dates at the Prudential Center in New Jersey, Barclays Center in Brooklyn and Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles have been included due to overwhelming ticket demand.
General on-sale for the newly announced dates is scheduled for this Friday, February 27 at 10am local time. Pre-sale began at 10am local time this morning. Ed Sheeran tickets that have already hit the secondary market boast an average price of $209.06.
Sheeran is touring in support of “x”, his 2014 release that has spawned three singles in “Sing”, “Don’t” and “Thinking Out Loud”. “x” was nominated for album of the year at this year’s Grammy Awards and was the best-selling album in the U.K. in 2014.
Apart from his solo tour, Sheeran will be headlining a few festivals through the summer months. Those include New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Rock in Rio USA in Las Vegas and Summerfest in Milwaukee.
