Pete Townshend and Eddie Vedder Announce Chicago Benefit Show in May

Rock and roll royalty are teaming up for a greater good this May. Pete Townshend of The Who and Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder have announced a one-off show at Chicago’s Rosemont Theatre on May 14, which will benefit Townshend’s Teen Cancer America organization.

Several notable musicians will join Townshend and Vedder onstage in Chicago next month. Pete’s brother Simon and The Who touring crew will be on hand, including Zac Starkey (drums), Pino Palladino (bass) and John Corey, Loren Gold and Frank Simes (keyboards).

Teen Cancer America aims to raise funds for teenagers diagnosed with cancer and the various programs they undergo at the University of Chicago Medicine. Both Ticketmaster and Rosemont Theatre’s box office will see tickets go on sale Tuesday, April 21st at 10am.

Townshend and Vedder have a notable history together. The duo has shared the stage at numerous shows since the ‘90s as well as Pearl Jam paying tribute to The Who during 2008’s VH1 Rock Honors ceremony.
