Top Broadway Tickets Of The Week (4/27)

The new Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “The King and I” Broadway production continues to reign supreme, going on a five week run as the top priced Broadway ticket on the secondary market.  However, this week’s top priced show has dropped 36% on the secondary market over the past week with tickets having an average asking price of under $1,000 for this Sunday’s showing at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre.  Here are the top five Broadway tickets of the secondary market, according to TicketIQ.

5/3/15 - The King and I | Avg. Price: $907.78 | Get-in Price: $322

The King and I” Broadway musical has enjoyed a five-week run as the top priced Broadway ticket on the secondary market.  Starring Kelli O’Hara and Ken Watanabe, the musical tells the story of an unconventional relationship that develops between the King of Siam and Anna Leonowens, who is a British school teacher.  The King and I tickets for Sunday’s performance at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre are going for an average price of $907.78 on the secondary market, with a get-in price of $322.

 

5/2/15 - Book of Mormon | Avg. Price: $463.05 | Get-in Price: $157

A winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical in 2011, the Book of Mormon returns to the top shows list. This hilarious musical tells the story of two mismatched Mormon boys who are sent on a mission far from their home.  Book of Mormon tickets for this Saturday’s showing at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre have a current secondary average price of $463.05, with a get-in price of $157.

 

5/1/15 - The Audience | Avg. Price: $435.04 | Get-in Price: $320

Academy Award winner Helen Mirren returns to Broadway in an excellent new Broadway play by Peter Morgan named “The Audience.”  Helen Mirren plays the role of Queen Elizabeth II, who for sixty years has private weekly meetings with her 12 Prime Ministers that not even their spouses know what was discussed.  The Audience tickets for Saturday’s show at the Schofield Theatre have an average price of $435.04 on the secondary market, with a get-in price of $320.

 

5/2/15 - Fish in the Dark | Avg. Price: $423.64 | Get in Price: $155

The creator and star of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and co-creator of “Seinfeld” Larry David made his Broadway debut earlier this year by bringing this humorous Broadway comedy. “The Fish in The Dark” focuses on the people who are dealing with a death in the family.  A Fish in the Dark tickets for Saturday’s show at the Cort Theatre have an average price of $423.64 on the secondary market, with a get-in price of $155.

 

4/28/15 - Curious Incident | Avg. Price: $415.68 | Get-in Price: $122

The “Curious Incident” Broadway play has a showing this Tuesday at the Barrymore Theatre with tickets having a secondary average price of $415.68 and a get-in price of $122.  This Broadway production tells the story of a 15 year old boy named Christopher, who falls under suspicion of killing a neighbor’s dog and sets out to find the true killer.
