This week in indie and alternative concerts gets started on May 1st with Death Cab For Cutie playing the Chicago Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. The Used and Every Time I Die will also play on May 1st at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland. On Mays 2nd funk band Primus will be performing at the Civic Theatre in New Orleans, Louisiana. Folk singer Sufjan Stevens will be at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York on May 2nd. Finally indie rock band The Decemberists will stop at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, California on the 2nd as well.

Indie band Death Cab For Cutie will be performing at the Chicago Theatre in Chicago, Illinois this week on May 1st. The show has an average ticket price of $129.71 and a lowest get-in price of $56. The band most recently released their eighth studio album Kintsugi  last month to critical acclaim and their last with longtime guitarist Chris Walla who left the band last year. Death Cab for Cutie will also play the Chicago Theatre on April 30th and on May 2nd at the Northrop Auditorium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The band led by enigmatic frontman Les Claypool released their latest album Primus & the Chocolate Factory with the Fungi Ensemble last fall. The band will also play the Civic Theatre on May 1st and then on the 3rd will play the Strand Theatre in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Post-hardcore band The Used and Every Time I Die will be playing at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland this week on the 1st. The average ticket price for this is $104.75 but fans will be able to find tickets for less than half that at only $50. Both bands had new albums last year with The Used releasing Imaginary Enemy and Every Time I Die with From Parts Unknown. The tour will also stop this week on May 2nd at the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio.

 

5/2 Sufjan Stevens at the Kings Theatre - Avg. Ticket Price $95.65 | Get-in: $53

On May 2nd folk singer Sufjan Stevens will play the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York. The show has an average ticket price of $95.65 and a lowest get-in price of $53. Stevens who now lives in Brooklyn also recorded his new album there Carrie & Lowell which was released last month. Fans who cannot make it to the show on the 2nd can check out the singer at the Kings Theatre on May 1st. The tour will then head next week to Boston on the 4th and Washington D.C. on the 5th.

 

5/2 The Decemberists at the Greek Theatre - Avg. $86.68 | Get-in: $43

Folk-rock band The Decemberists will play the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, California this week on May 2nd. The average ticket price for this show is set at $86.68 and the lowest get-in price at $43. The band put out their seventh album What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World back in January to much acclaim hitting number 7 on the Billboard 200 charts. The Decemberists will aso play the Greek Theatre on Friday May 1st, both shows with support from indie-pop band Lucius.
