A wave of international soccer friendlies have been passing through the United States over the past few weeks. The US might be involved in the most anticipated, a friendly against Mexico at the Alamodome on April 15. The match in San Antonio is sold out, which has led to some high prices on the secondary market.
Currently the average price for USA vs Mexico tickets is $178.37 on the secondary market. The get-in price for the match is $68. 65,000 tickets have been sold, surpassing the previous record for a soccer match in San Antonio. That came in a friendly between Mexico and Korea Republic on January 29, 2014. The crowd of 54,313 witnessed Mexico win 4-0.

The US and Mexico have never played each other in San Antonio before. The last time these countries faced each other, the match ended in a 2-2 draw. 59,066 were in attendance for that match at University of Phoenix Stadium on April 2, 2014. The average price for that match on the secondary market was $112.47, 37% below the upcoming friendly in Texas.
Later in May, the women’s national team for both of these countries will square off as part of the Send-Off Series before the Women’s World Cup. The US Women’s National Team will face Mexico on May 17 at the StubHub Center in Los Angeles.
