May 7, 2015

(UPDATE 5/7/15) The "Dear Jerry" concert in Baltimore next week continues to grow. More artists have been added to the bill, which will now see Peter Frampton, Grace Potter and Allen Toussaint grace the stage at Merriweather Post Pavilion on May 14.

The show was already slated to feature all four surviving members of the Grateful Dead, who will appear alongside their respective bands for individual sets. The tribute concert is being held to commemorate the late Jerry Garcia and the 20th anniversary of his passing from a severe heart attack in 1995. Mickey Hart and Bob Weir will play solo sets while Billy & The Kids and Communion are also slated to perform.

All Four Grateful Dead Members Reuniting for Jerry Garcia Tribute Concert This May

Grateful Dead tickets will be hard to come by when the band reunites at Soldier Field this July, but there’s hope yet for those itching to see the members play. All four remaining musicians will bring their respective bands to the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Baltimore in May to celebrate the life and music of the late Jerry Garcia in a tribute concert entitled "Dear Jerry".

The tribute will occur on May 14 and will feature an array of notable supporting acts. Mickey Hart and Bob Weir will play solo sets while Billy & The Kids and Communion pack a full band performance. Bruce Hornsby, who will play with the Dead over their three Chicago shows in July, will also be present. Jimmy Cliff, David Grisman and Disco Biscuits are also scheduled to play on the star-studded bill.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, March 13 at 10am. Fans are encouraged to act fast, however, as tickets will more than likely sell out quickly. Limited amounts of secondary market tickets can already be found below.

Nearly 20 acts will play at the tribute, which is being promoted as ‘Dear Jerry: Celebrating the Music of Jerry Garcia’.
