Top Indie and Alternative Concert Tickets of the Week (5/11)

This week’s top indie and alternative concerts kicks off on May 14th with a special show by japanese idol band Babymetal at the House of Blues in Chicago, Illinois. On the 15th alt-rock band Jane’s Addiction  will be at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey while also on the 15th Tame Impala in Chicago, Illinois. On the 16th Muse and Death Cab for Cutie will be at KROQ’s Weenie Roast at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre in Irvine, California. Also on the 16th Lana Del Rey and Courtney Love will be at the Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, California.

5/16 KROQ Weenie Roast (Muse, Death Cab For Cutie, James Bay) at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre - Avg. Ticket Price $197.82 | Get-in: $48

This week on the 16th at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre in Irvine, California bands such as Muse, Death Cab for Cutie, James Bay, All Time Low and others will celebrate KROQ’s Weenie Roast. The event has an average ticket price of $197.82 but fans can get in for as low as $48. Proceeds from the event will go to various charities including The Surfrider Foundation and Heal the Bay. Fans can also catch other awesome acts like Florence and the Machine, Cold War Kids, and Panic! at the Disco.

Lana Del Rey and Courtney Love will be at the Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, California this week on the 16th. The show has an average ticket price of $126.68 though fans can find tickets for as low as $48. Titled the Endless Summer Tour this is one of only 8 tour dates. Lana Del Rey is working on a new album entitled Honeymoon and Courtney Love released a new single “Honour” last year. The tour will also stop in Morrison, Colorado at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre on the 12th and the Ak-Chin Pavilion in Phoenix, Arizona on the 14th.

5/14 Babymetal at the House of Blues Chicago - Avg. Ticket Price $125.86 | Get-in: $66

This week on the 14th Japanese metal idol band Babymetal will be playing at the House of Blues in Chicago, Illinois. The show has an average ticket price of $125.86 and a lowest get-in price of $66. The band led by a trio of teenage singers, released their debut self-titled album last year. In a rare North American appearance Babymetal will also play the Danforth Music Hall in Toronto, Canada on the 12th before playing the Rock on the Range Festival in Columbus, Ohio.

5/15 Tame Impala at the Riviera Theatre - Avg. Ticket Price $115.04 | Get-in: $53

Psychedelic rock band Tame Impala will be performing this week on the 15th at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. The show has an average ticket price of $115.04 and a lowest get-in price of $53. The band is set to release their third album Currents on July 17 so fans should look to hear some new material. If fans in the area can not make it to this show Tame Impala will also be in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the Riverside Theater on the 14th.

Alternative rock band Jane’s Addiction will be performing at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey this week on the 15th. The show has an average ticket price of $98.83 and a lowest get-in price of $62. The band led by Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro rose to fame in the late 80’s with their songs “Jane Says” and “Been Caught Stealing” but did release an album the Great Escape Artist back in 2011. The band will stop in Brooklyn, New York at the Brooklyn Bowl on the 13th and on the 16th at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
