Astros vs Rangers Tickets Are Down 27% On Secondary Market Despite Playoff Implications

September 25, 2015

For much of the 2015 season the Houston Astros held the lead in the American League West. Amid a very public rebuilding process that involved league low MLB payrolls in an effort to build up the farm system. That process came through earlier than expected and the Astros were among the best teams in the majors in 2015 until a late summer slump. That led to an even more surprising resurgence from the Texas Rangers, who now lead the division. Texas was under .500 as late as August 13, but now has an 86.9 percent chance of winning the division this year. The two teams will play one final series against each other this weekend in Houston, with Texas holding a 3.5 game lead.
