The Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs currently have the second and third best records in the National League. Unfortunately for those two teams, the best record in the league is also in their division with the St. Louis Cardinals. That means the Pirates and Cubs are likely headed to a Wild Card matchup against each other once the playoffs start. The next Wild Card contender is 10 games back, making it just about guaranteed this will be the matchup. Before that game, though, the Pirates and Cubs will play a three-game series in Chicago this weekend. The Pirates enter the series 3.5 games up on the Cubs, which would send the single-elimination game to Pittsburgh on October 7.
