The promotion of UFC will return for an event in Houston on October 3 for UFC 192. It will be the fourth UFC event Houston has hosted, though the first in almost two years. UFC 192 will be held at the Toyota Center with a Light Heavy Championship bout being featured as the event’s main attraction that will pit the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier (16-1, 6KOs) against top contender Alexander Gustafsson (16-3, 10 KOs) of Sweden. The official fight card of UFC 192 will feature a total of five bouts and the co-main event is a welterweight matchup between former champion Johny Hendricks (17-3, 8 KOs) and top contender Tyron Woodley (18-3, 5 KOs).
The good news for UFC fans in Houston looking to attend is that UFC 192 tickets will be much more affordable compared to the last UFC event held at the Toyota Center. Tickets for UFC 192 are going for an average price of $200.27 on the secondary market, with the least expensive ticket to get in priced at $56. UFC 192 tickets are 24% below the average price of UFC 166 which took place at the Toyota Center in October of 2013 and had tickets on the resale market at an average price of $264.93, with a get in price of $76.

However, UFC 166 tickets were more expensive because the main event featured a Heavyweight Championship bout with then champion Cain Velasquez in a rubber match against Junior dos Santos.
The featured bout of the evening for UFC 192 is not without intrigue, as both Cormier and Gustafsson have both suffered defeats from former Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, who earlier this year was stripped of his title and removed from the official UFC rankings following his arrest in Albuquerque, New Mexico in a hit and run incident.
Cormier was able to gain from Jones’ misfortune, receiving a second crack on the Light Heavyweight Championship in 2015 when he fought top contender Anthony Johnson for the vacant belt at UFC 187 in Las Vegas. In the bout, Cormier submitting Johnson by rear naked choke in the third round.
Cormier’s first title defense against Gustafsson could have happened earlier this year for the vacant title, but Gustafsson was unable to defeat Anthony Johnson in a title eliminator this past January. A win would have given him the opportunity to fight for the vacant belt against Cormier in UFC 187.
Gustafson will get his shot anyway against Cormier despite losing two of his last three bouts, but because of the Swede’s size and experience fighting at the top level, he makes for a very dangerous first title defense for Cormier, who is now 36 years of age.
