In one of the most impressive LCS showings, the New York Mets swept the Chicago Cubs without trailing in any inning. The Mets are now the National League representative in the World Series for the first time since 2000, when they faced the New York Yankees. The Mets have not won the World Series since 1986 and the anticipation for the another title has driven up prices for Mets World Series tickets on the secondary market.
Across the three potential home games at Citi Field, the average price for Mets tickets is $1,667.82. That makes it the most expensive home average for any World Series team since at least 2010 when TicketIQ started keeping track of data. Game 3 for the Mets, the first game at Citi Field, will be the least expensive with an average price of $1572.06 and a get-in price of $666. Game 4 has an average of $1609.04 with a get-in price of $661 and a potential Game 5 has an average of $1840.59 with a get-in price of $711.
Because of the American League’s win during the All-Star Game, the Mets will only get to host three games during the World Series and will have to start the series in either Toronto or Kansas City.
Mets tickets currently eclipse the 2010 San Francisco Giants, who held the previous record with an average of $1667.82. The only other team to eclipse a $1600 average for home World Series games was the 2013 Boston Red Sox at $1612.82.
