NBA All-Star Game Tickets Now at Record Low Prices


(UPDATE 2/16/17) Ticket prices are dropping fast for this weekend's All-Star festivities in New Orleans.

For fans making the trip to the Big Easy for three-night affair of star-studded events, waiting to purchase tickets is paying off. Not only are prices falling for All-Star Saturday Night, but also for the All-Star Game on Sunday. On TicketIQ, the average resale price for NBA All-Star Saturday Night tickets is $713, down 30 percent from Wednesday's average of $1,014. The cheapest All-Star Saturday Night tickets are fetching for $120 each.

Sunday's All-Star Game has also experienced a significant price drop over the last 24 hours. The average resale price NBA All-Star Game tickets is now $1,055, down 35 percent from the $1,612 average on Wednesday morning. The cheapest NBA All-Star Game tickets are currently going for $180, a 3 percent dip from the $185 asking price 24 hours ago.

Compare those price drops to three seasons ago, when the All-Star Game was last held at Smoothie King Center. As the above graphic shows, the get-in price price is substantially cheaper than 2014's game. Sunday's contest will be the cheapest All-Star Game to attend since 2011. Prior to this year, the cheapest All-Star Game to attend came in 2012, when tickets started from $267 each at Amway Center in Orlando.

2017 NBA All-Star Game Tickets Cheapest of Last Three Years

(ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 2/14/17) The NBA's best will descend upon New Orleans for the 2017 NBA All-Star Game this weekend. With the festivities landing in the Big Easy for the second time in four years, 2017 NBA All-Star Game tickets are the cheapest since it last rolled through New Orleans in 2014.

On TicketIQ, the average resale price for 2017 NBA All-Star Game tickets is now $1,576. That makes it the least expensive All-Star Game since 2014, when tickets averaged a record low $1,020 at Smoothie King Center. For fans looking to just get past the gates on Sunday the cheapest available All-Star Game tickets are now going for $171 each.

The All-Star weekend was initially scheduled to be held in Charlotte, North Carolina, but was moved to New Orleans in August due to the state's controversial transgender bathroom law. The familiarity of All-Star weekend - New Orleans will host its third All-Star Game and second in four years - may be impacting ticket prices on the resale market, giving fans ample opportunity to save if planning to attend.

The Western Conference will feature a Warriors-heavy roster featuring Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson. Other notable players on the West side include hometown favorite Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard, DeMarcus Cousins, Russell Westbrook, James Harden and DeAndre Jordan. LeBron James leads the East with teammate Kyrie Irving and fellow All-Stars DeMar DeRozan, Isaiah Thomas, John Wall and Paul George.

Sunday's game won't be the only marquee event on tap this weekend. The festivities kick off on Friday with the Rising Stars and Celebrity Game, which will feature the league's top rookies and sophomores and a slew of A-list actors and musicians hitting the court. Devin Booker, Karl-Anthony Towns, Buddy Hield and Kristaps Porzingis highlight the USA and World Rosters during the Rising Stars Challenge. Tickets to the event are averaging $469 and the cheapest are listed from $33 each.

Saturday night will feature a trio of events in the Skills Challenge, 3-Point Contest and Slam Dunk Contest. DeMarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis, John Wall and Isaiah Thomas are among the eight players participating in the Skills Challenge while Klay Thompson, Kyle Lowry, Kemba Walker and Nick Young set to play in the 3-Point Contest. Aaron Gordon, DeAndre Jordan, Glenn Robinson and Derrick Jones will go on the aerial assault in the Slam Dunk Contest. NBA All-Star Saturday Night tickets are currently averaging $1,043 and the cheapest are fetching for $141 each.
