Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival Sells Out in Three Hours; Passes Available Here
February 23, 2017
UPDATE: 2/28/2017
Coachella announced today that Beyonce will not perform her headlining set at Coachella this April due to her pregnancy. Beyonce's decision was made following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule. While Coachella has yet to announce her replacement, Beyonce will headline Coachella in 2018. The Lemonade singer announced her pregnancy via Instagram on February 1, citing that she and husband Jay-Z were expecting twins.
To the delight of many, Lady Gaga, fresh off her fantastic Super Bowl LI halftime show, will be replacing replacing Beyonce on the Coachella lineup.

On Tuesday, festival organizers announced the 2017 lineup for Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, which will feature Beyonce, Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar at the top of the bill. The 3-day, two-weekend festival, which is held annually in Indio, California, will take place from April 14-16 and April 21-23. Over 150 artists are slated to take the stage, including Lorde, Mac Miller, Banks, Raury, Gucci Mane, Mitski, Tory Lanez, Hinds, Lucky Blue Smith's family band the Atomics, Tove Lo, Kiiara, and more.
3-day passes for Coachella went on sale yesterday (Jan. 4) on Coachella's official website, and sold out in a mere three hours.
Already, 3-day passes are averaging a whopping $951 for Weekend One, and $744 for Weekend Two. The cheapest pass available is priced at $473, marking an 18% increase from the face value ticket price.
Over the last five years, Coachella has posted some of the priciest festival tickets the market has seen. In 2015, the festival grossed a total of $84.26 million, grossing more than any other festival in the world at the time. The already-huge demand for 2017's event should come as no surprise with Beyonce leading the charge. The 35-year-old singer had one of the biggest tours of 2016 with the launch of her Formation World Tour in April. Tickets for Beyonce averaged an impressive $244 across all of her performances.
