DeMarcus Cousins will make his Pelicans debut on Thursday against the Rockets, and his first game in the Big Easy is bringing affordable tickets to the resale market.
The 26-year-old was the focal point of last Sunday's blockbuster trade between the Pelicans and Kings, which sent Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans and others to Sacramento in exchange for Cousins. He'll lace up in navy and gold for the first time Thursday and plenty of cheap tickets are still available.
Prices for Thursday's game against the Rockets spiked following news of the trade late Sunday night. Earlier that day tickets owned an average resale price of $58 and jumped to $82 by Monday morning. The game's peak average came on Tuesday, rising to $95 by mid-day. That has come down in the last 24 hours, and Pelicans tickets to Cousins' debut now own an $86 average. Fans looking just to get past the gates at Smoothie King Center on Thursday can find the cheapest tickets listed from $25 each in the 300s sections.

As the above graphic depicts, a similar price trend was in effect for the Pelicans' upcoming home games against the Pistons on on March 1 and Spurs on March 3. Pelicans tickets against the Pistons now own a $51 average, up 59 percent from its $32 average on Sunday. The March 3 game against the Spurs is now the most expensive of all three upcoming Pelicans home games at a $90 average, a 43% hike from Sunday's $63 average.
