Heat-Cavaliers Tickets in Miami Are Cheapest in Post-LeBron Era
March 3, 2017
Heat fans will welcome LeBron James back to his old stomping grounds on the cheap this weekend.
The Cavaliers head to AmericanAirlines Arena for a matchup with the Heat on Saturday night, and it will be the cheapest game between the two teams since James re-signed with the Cavaliers in the summer of 2014. The fifth game in South Beach since James' decision to return to Cleveland, savings are to be had if snagging tickets on the resale market.
On TicketIQ, the average resale price for Heat tickets against the Cavaliers is now $218. Of the four games held in Miami since the 2014-15 season, none have owned an average resale price under $260. The cheapest available tickets to Saturday night's game are going for $70 each. Lower level seating starts from $174 each.
Saturday's game holds no flame to James' first game back in Miami on Christmas Day 2014. That game, which saw the Heat pull out a 101-91 Yuletide victory, posted a $446 average and $104 get-in price. Prior to this weekend the cheapest matchup between the two teams in the post-LeBron era in Miami came on March 16, 2015. That game saw a $264 average and $63 get-in price.
Barring a playoff series, the Cavaliers return to Miami once more this season on April 10. That game currently owns a $225 average and $56 asking price.
Both teams will enter Saturday's game on the tail end of a back-to-back. The Heat take on the Magic at Amway Center on Friday night while the Cavaliers head to Atlanta to face the Hawks. They'll meet again on Monday in the second part of a home-and-home series at Quicken Loans Arena, where tickets currently average $97 and start from as low as $29 each.
