Tool Plots North American Tour Dates For May & June

Tool has announced the dates for a short North American tour scheduled to start this spring. The nine-date trek includes shows in Rochester, Montreal, Detroit, and Chicago, as well as a headlining slot at Boston Calling music festival and Governors Ball Music Festival in New York City. The route will kick off on May 24 in Fairfax, Virginia and extend out until June 8 where it wraps up in Chicago at the Allstate Arena. Boston Calling kicks off on May 28, while Governors Ball will be held from June 2-4.

Tickets for all dates go on sale on Friday, March 17 via Ticketmaster, according to the band's website. With a limited handful of stops along their scheduled route, fans will likely rely on the secondary market for Tool tickets.

Regardless, Tool's announcement suggests there will be more dates to come, and fans are advised to keep checking the site and social media for updates. Additional news has indicated that Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan has recorded vocal work for Tool’s highly anticipated fifth studio album, which will mark the band's first disc in 11 years when it drops. Their previous release, 10,000 Days, debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and sold 564,000 copies in its first week. By the end of 2007 the album had sold 2.5 million copies worldwide.
