Average Price for World Baseball Classic Final Tickets Up 44% After USA's Clinch

(UPDATE 3/22/17) The United States is moving on to face Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic Final, and momentum is building on the resale ticket market.

Team USA defeated Japan, 2-1, in the second semifinal game at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday night. They have clinched their first Final berth in the tournament's 11-year history, and that has led to a big uptick in prices for World Baseball Classic Final tickets at Dodger Stadium.

On TicketIQ, the average resale price for World Baseball Classic tickets to Wednesday's Final is now $144. That marks a 44% increase from Tuesday's average of $99, hours prior to the start of USA vs. Japan. Fans looking to just get past the gates at Chavez Ravine can find tickets starting from $48 in the top deck sections behind home plate. The most expensive ticket is priced from $634 in dugout section 10.

Prices for the 2017 WBC Final are on par 2013's Final at AT&T Park. That year, the Dominican Republic captured its first tile with a win over Puerto Rico. Tickets owned an average price of $111 and started from $42 on TicketIQ.

USA Meets Japan in WBC Semifinals at Dodger Stadium; Tickets Start From $23

(UPDATE 3/21/17) Three teams remain in the 2017 World Baseball Classic, and one will hoist the tournament's silver trophy following Wednesday night's Final at Dodger Stadium. Puerto Rico is moving on to the championship round after defeating Netherlands, 4-3, in a 10-inning thriller. The United States will match up with Japan on Tuesday night for rights to the tournament decider.

And for fans with interest in attending the two remaining games, World Baseball Classic tickets at Dodger Stadium are fetching for cheap prices on the resale market.

On TicketIQ, the average resale price for Tuesday's semifinal game between the USA and Japan is now $53. That is considerably cheaper than Monday's game between the Netherlands and Puerto Rico, where tickets owned an $82 average. The cheapest tickets for Tuesday's semifinal matchup is currently $23.

Prices will increase for Wednesday's final, but there are plenty of affordable tickets remaining on the resale market. As it stands now the average resale price for World Baseball Classic final tickets is $99 and the get-in price starts from $36. Expect those prices to rise should the USA clinch a berth in the final with a win over Japan on Tuesday night.

Puerto Rico enters the WBC final after winning all six of its games during the first two rounds of play. The team, which features the likes of MLB superstars Javier Baez, Yadier Molina and Carlos Beltran, defeated the Netherlands in a nail-biting 10-inning semifinal game to punch their ticket to the decider on Wednesday.

Japan takes its perfect 6-0 record into Tuesday night's game against the USA The team was an offensive juggernaut over rounds one and two, compiling 22 runs in three round one games before exploding for three eight-run games in round two. They'll look to keep the wheel turning when they face the USA, who went 2-1 in both rounds, The USA fell to the Dominican Republic in round one and Puerto Rico in round two.

2017 World Baseball Classic Tickets Start From Just $4 at Marlins Park

(UPDATE 3/8/17) There's been no shortage of world-class action at the 2017 World Baseball Classic so far, and the global tournament will bring the best in baseball to Marlins Park beginning this weekend.

Pool C, which features Canada, Colombia, Dominican Republic and United States, will play its first-round games in Miami between Friday and Monday (pending a deciding seventh game). Affordable ticket prices are scattered throughout the pool, too, as World Baseball Classic tickets at Marlins Park start from just $4 at select games.

As the above infographic indicates, the most expensive game at Marlins Park will be played between the United States and Dominican Republic on Saturday. The game currently owns a $226 average and $115 get-in price - more than six times the next most expensive game's cheapest ticket price (Dominican Republic vs. Colombia owns an $18 get-in price the following day).

Conversely, it will be a Saturday matchup  between Colombia and Canada that owns the cheapest tickets at Marlins Park. As it stands now the average resale price for tickets to the game is $37 and the cheapest available tickets are just $4 each. The cheapest game involving the U.S. comes against Colombia on Friday, where tickets average $66 and the get-in price is $11.

The World Baseball Classic returns stateside for second-round action at Petco Park next week. The Championship round at Dodger Stadium will be held the following week. The Final will be played on March 22.

2017 World Baseball Classic Brings Big Names, Ticket Prices to U.S. Next Month

(ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 2/9/17) The world's greatest baseball players will gather for the 2017 World Baseball Classic next month, with 16 teams battling across four countries. The two-week tournament will land in South Korea, Japan, Mexico and the United States between March 9 and 22, playing host to 63 MLB All-Stars and many of the world's most talented players.

The U.S. will hold games in all three rounds of play, hitting Marlins Park in Miami, Petco Park in San Diego and Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Marlins Park sets to showcase Pool C games in the first round while Petco Park hosts second-round Pool F games. Dodger Stadium will hold the three potential Championship games between March 20 and 22.

World Baseball Classic tickets are available for all stateside games on TicketIQ and, perhaps expectedly, increase in price as the tournament goes on. On TicketIQ first-round tickets at Marlins Park are averaging $103. Pool C will feature Canada, Dominican Republic, Colombia and the United States. The U.S. and Dominican Republic will play in the priciest game at Marlins Park on March 11, where tickets average $167 and start from $53 each.

The second round of play will hit Petco Park between March 14 and 19. Over those seven potential games tickets are averaging $173. For fans looking to attend the Championship round at Dodger Stadium, tickets own a $258 average over the three possible games.
