The Chiefs currently sit atop the AFC West and have an 8-4 record. This will be the Chiefs fourth consecutive trip to the playoffs and they have won the AFC West every season since 2016. Last season, Kansas City took the New England Patriots to overtime in the AFC Championship before losing, 37-31. The Chiefs haven’t won or participated in a Super Bowl since 1969.

The Bills and the Chiefs last met in the post season in 1993, when Buffalo beat Kansas City, 30-13 in the AFC Championship. That game was the first of three post-season meetings between the teams — the Chiefs beat the Bills in the AFL Championship, 31-7, in 1966 before going to lose to Green Bay in the Super Bowl. The Bills have a 2-1 playoff record against Kansas City.
