Passion Pit Plan Festival Dates Across North America & Australia

June 27, 2013

After cancelling the first part of their North American tour last year, Massachusetts’ premier synth-pop quintet appear to be making up for lost time with the release of Passion Pit tickets for a further series of festival and theatre dates across the rest of 2013.

Indeed, the band haven’t stopped touring since they were forced to reschedule half a dozen shows last July due to frontman Michael Angelakos’ battle with bipolar disorder. And now, fans from two different sides of the Pacific will once again get the chance to experience their eclectic falsetto-led blend of psychedelia, indie-rock and electronica live later this year.

After sets at Rothbury’s Electric Forest on June 28, the Festival D’Ete de Quebec on July 9, Ottawa’s RBC Bluesfest on July 10 and New York’s Camp Bisco on July 13, and a co-headlining date with Weezer at Toronto’s Downsview Park on Jul 12, the group will head Down Under for a string of appearances at the likes of Bankstown’s Splendour In The Grass and Adelaide’s Spin Off Music Festival before returning to their homeland.

The five-piece will then combine headline shows at the likes of Saskatoon’s The Odeon on September 3 and Winnipeg’s Garrick Centre on September 4 with festival slots at Somerset’s Summer Set Festival on August 9 and the Austin City Limits Festival on October 4, eventually finishing up at Las Vegas’ Life Is Beautiful Festival on October 26.

Passion Pit tickets are currently only available for the October 25 headline gig at Los Angeles’ The Greek Theatre with a get-in price of $117 and average price of $205. But be sure to keep checking back for further information on the availability of Passion Pit tickets.

After reaching No.4 on the Billboard charts last July, the majority of their second album, Gossamer, has unsurprisingly dominated recent shows with the likes of their first, and so far only, US Hot 100 entry, “Take A Walk” and subsequent releases “I’ll Be Alright,” “Constant Conversations,” “Carried Away” and “Cry Like A Ghost” all making an appearance.

However, the band’s 2009 debut album, Manners, has also been well-represented with their very first single, “Sleepyhead,” also popping up on the set-list alongside the likes of “The Reeling,” “To Kingdom Come” and “Little Secrets.”
