Chris Cornell Reveals New Solo Record, Extensive Fall Acoustic Tour

June 3, 2015

Chris Cornell has big plans for 2015. The Soundgarden singer has revealed plans for his long-awaited fifth studio record, titled Higher Truth, and has set a September 18 release date for the album. Cornell will also embark on an extensive acoustic tour in the U.S., New Zealand and Australia between September and December.

Higher Truth is the singer’s first solo effort since 2009’s Scream. His tour will kick off on September 20 at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and run through the U.S. untilNovember 2, when it plays its final show in the country at Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater. It then heads to New Zealand and Australia from November 20 to December 12. 41 dates in total are scheduled over the three-month stretch.

Rolling Stone has reported that a dollar from each ticket bought on the upcoming tour will be donated to Cornell’s charity, the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation. Tickets to most shows will be made available to the general public this Friday and Saturday at 10am via Ticketmaster.
