Prior to the start of the season, the Houston Texans were expected to hold close for the division lead in the AFC South. That’s been the case, but not how anyone expected. The Indianapolis Colts were expected to be one of the best teams in the AFC and the NFL, but have not had an easy time starting the season. Indianapolis enters Week 5 with a 2-2 record, and as the only team in the division with at least two wins. On Thursday night, the Texans will host the Colts with a chance to jump back in the race.

Even though this could be the biggest divisional matchup of the season, it is the least expensive game on the secondary market for the Texans. The average price for Texans tickets against the Colts is $147.14 with a get-in price of $53. No other game in Houston will have an average below $150.

That even includes a Week 17 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, which currently has an average price of $168.84. The most expensive game for the Texans will come in Week 14 against the New England Patriots. Currently the average price for that game is $355.45 with a get-in price of $134.

There’s a few unknowns heading into Thursday that could be impacting ticket prices on the secondary market. Colts quarterback Andrew Luck was limited in practice on Wednesday afternoon and might not be ready to go for the game after sitting out last week’s matchup against the Jaguars with a shoulder injury. The Colts have said they expect Luck to play, but his practice schedule has not been optimistic.

Houston’s play in general could also be a reason why ticket prices are low. The offense was always going to be an issue, but the defense outside of J.J. Watt has also been disappointing. If the Texans can put everything together, they may be able to sneak out a win and get back in the race for the division title. If that is the case, Houston fans won’t have to pay high prices to see it.
