Last Minute Brodeur Jersey Retirement Tickets Start At $164

February 9, 2016

New Jersey Devils

The New Jersey Devils are on the edge of the playoff race in the NHL, currently fifth place in the Metropolitan division. The importance of a playoff spot will be put on hold tonight, though, when the Devils honor the best player to ever put on the red and black. Tuesday night's game will feature a Martin Brodeur jersey retirement ceremony that will see the legendary goaltender's No. 30 raised into the rafters.

For those looking for last minute tickets, there are just under 500 available on the secondary market. The current average for those tickets is $324.77 and the get-in price is $164, which has remained quite constant since the ceremony was announced.

In a separate ceremony on Monday night, the Devils unveiled the statue of Brodeur that will be placed outside of the Prudential Center going forward. The ceremony was held in Newark as the Devils fell to the New York Rangers 2-1 at Madison Square Garden. New Jersey will hope to get back into the win column to honor Brodeur against the league-worst Edmonton Oilers.

Brodeur Jersey Retirement Tickets Are 255% Higher Than The Devils Home Average

(10/6/15) There might not have been a better goaltender in the National Hockey League than Martin Brodeur. That wasn’t a secret kept to just New Jersey Devils fans, either. But New Jersey is where he was most appreciated, spending 21 of his 22 seasons with the Devils. That appreciation will be taken to the next level this season when the team will retire the goaltender’s jersey number in a pre-game ceremony.

Prior to a February 9 game against the Edmonton Oilers, the Devils will honor Brodeur by retiring his No. 30 in the rafters of the Prudential Center. The No. 30 will join the No. 3 of Ken Daneyko, No. 4 of Scott Stevens, and No. 27 of Scott Niedermayer as numbers retired by the Devils. All three other players were part of New Jersey’s dynasty, which resulted in three Stanley Cups from 1994-95 to 2002-03.

The current average price for Devils tickets against the Oilers is $408.91 on the secondary market with a get-in price of $167. It is easily the most expensive home game for New Jersey as no other game has an average above $200. The next home expensive game comes against the New York Rangers with an average price of $185.01 on February 2.
Along with the number retirement, the Devils will also build a statue of Brodeur that will sit outside of the Prudential Center. He will be the first Devil to receive that honor, and it will be unveiled the same night as the ceremony.
