2016 Miami Open Tickets Most Expensive in Three Years

The second leg on the annual ATP and WTA Tour is just four weeks away from its March 21 start date, and the 2016 Miami Open is already generating big ticket demand on the secondary market. With two-time Men's defending champion Novak Djokovic and three-time Women's champion Serena Williams both returning to the court this year, such high prices come as no surprise.

According to TicketIQ the average price for 2016 Miami Open tickets on the secondary market is now $182.12. That is nearly identical to last year's tournament, which averaged a $181.46 ticket across all sessions. It will be the most expensive Miami Open since 2013, when tickets averaged $184.06.

For those headed to Tennis Center at Crandon Park next month, the cheapest sessions will be held March 23. Session 3 is currently averaging a $49 ticket with a get-in price of $10 while the night session owns a $47 average and $12 get-in price. Prices will nearly double for each subsequent session. Following sessions 3 and 4 the cheapest will be session 6 the following night, where tickets average $93.46 and the cheapest ticket is listed for $35.

Expect to pay big prices if looking to attend the Women's and/or Men's Final. Held on April 2, the Women's Final currently owns an average ticket price of $191.49 and a get-in price of $60 on the secondary market. The Men's Final the following day is averaging a $484.12 and the cheapest ticket is listed for $150.

This year's tournament will again feature many of the world's greatest players, including top-ranked Men's players Andy Murray, Roger Federer, Stan Wawrinka, Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer. Angelique Keber, Simona Halep, Agnieszka Radwanska and Gabriñe Muguruza join Williams on the WTA side.
