Following a notable offseason, the Atlanta Hawks enter the 2016-17 season under a new sense of leadership. Organizational cornerstones Jeff Teague and Al Horford are now in the respective cities of Indianapolis and Boston, but the Hawks made a major splash in inking Dwight Howard to a three-year, $70.5 million deal. It appears that those transactions haven't drastically affected demand for Hawks tickets on the secondary market this season, however, as the team is posting a near-identical average resale price at Philips Arena when to last season.

On TicketIQ, Hawks tickets are averaging $102.32 across all 81 scheduled home games this season. The team's most expensive game comes against the Warriors on March 6, where tickets own a secondary market average of $369.53 and the get-in price starts from $127. Conversely, the Hawks' cheapest home game will be played against the 76ers on December 16. That game is averaging a $50.41 ticket and $8 get-in price.

While the Warriors' lone visit to Atlanta this season is generating huge prices, the defending champion Cavaliers' two stops in March and April are the Hawks' second and third most expensive games. Both games are posting tickets above or directly below the $300 average on the secondary market. The cheaper of the two games will be the April 9 game, however, where tickets start from $77.

Can the Hawks weather the losses of Teague and Horford? Only time will tell, but rising point guard Dennis Schroder and Howard will look to fill the void left by both players. The Hawks seek a 10th straight postseason berth in 2017, the second longest-running playoff appearance streak in the NBA behind the Spurs' 19 consecutive appearances. And with new pieces to the puzzle, perhaps this will be the year the Hawks capture their elusive second NBA championship in franchise history.
