For Lakers fans, who have come to expect championships, early playoff rounds generate about as much excitement as the next Kevin Costner romantic sports biopic. This years run is no different, as ticket prices for the first two playoff rounds were just 20% and 29% above their regular season average, respectively.
With the arrival of the Conference Finals, though, Lakers fans are summoning their collective Avatar and paying up for the chance to see Kobe and Co. make a run at their 21st championship.
Now, with a conference title as close as a walk to the concession stand, fans are finally settling into their seats, turning off their cell phones (maybe that’s a stretch) are hoping that the feature attraction delivers yet another Hollywood ending.
