Only Days Left to Get Tickets to See Jay-Z @ The Barclays Center

September 25, 2012

Jay-Z is set to open Brooklyn's Barclays Center with a string of concerts beginning on Friday, September 28, and it's no surprise that tickets to these shows are selling fast. The Jay-Z Barclays Center tour consists of eight total dates with shows on September 28-30, and October 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

With 11 number-one records on the Billboard 200, Jay-Z holds the record for the most by a solo artist, and has already collected 14 Grammy Awards and sold approximately 50 million records. He has been ranked as one of the top artists of all time by Billboard, Rolling Stone Magazine and others, and many of his albums, such as "Reasonable Doubt" and "The Blueprint", are considered essential to hip-hop fans worldwide.

His songs and lyrical content stand as exemplars of contemporary hip-hop. Tracks like "Can't Knock The Hustle," "Hard Knock Life," "Big Pimpin'," "99 Problems," and "Show Me What You Got" have helped define rap music for the current generation. As he branches out and enjoys other ventures, Jay-Z is showing no signs of stopping anytime soon when it comes to music.

Jay-Z's Barclays Center concert tickets can be purchased here at TicketIQ for as low as $50. Tickets for the opening weekend, September 28-30, start at $52, while the final performance on October 6 has a get-in price of $51. For all eight shows, the average ticket price is approximately $340. (For more ticket data on all 8 shows check out the chart at the bottom of this post.)

Besides being one of the top performers of this era, Jay-Z status as part-owner of the Brooklyn Nets has made him the public face of the franchise and he is often credited with bringing the NBA to Brooklyn, so it's only fitting that he would be the one to open the new arena. Baseball's Brooklyn Dodgers relocated to Los Angeles in 1958, leaving a major league sports void in Brooklyn for over 50 years. Now, the Brooklyn Nets will be the first professional sports team to call Brooklyn home since the Dodgers left, making Jay-Z's Barclays opening something of a historic event.

He has headlined numerous tours and festivals, including the Glastonbury Festival, the Roskilde Festival, and the "Budweiser Made in America" festival in Philadelphia. His shows are famous for including energetic performances as well as guest appearances by many other leaders of the hip-hop world. Jay-Z's concerts are always entertaining, but this homecoming should be extra special.
