Widely regarded as America’s national sweetheart, Taylor Swift, along with British sensation Ed Sheeran, will take her winning country-pop sound, ‘girl next door’ charm and confessional tales of celebrity ex-boyfriends on the road for a third time later this year with a 64-date RED tour across some of North America’s biggest concert venues. Currently, Taylor Swift tickets for the Red Tour are averaging just under $300, with the average get-in price around $95. Prices are also starting to trend upwards with tickets to most tour dates going up 5% in the last week and some jumping as much as 32%.
Kicking off almost a year to the day the Speak Now world tour came to a close, the 23-year-old will first take to the stage at Omaha’s CenturyLink Center on March 13 and will then visit venue across the US and Canada, including several larger stadiums including New Jersey's MetLife (July 13), Philadelphia Lincoln Financial (July 19/20), Foxborough’s Gillette Stadium (July 26/27), Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field (July 6) and Chicago’s Soldier Field (Aug 10). The tour will conclude, appropriately, in Nashville where she got her start. Surprisingly, the three Nashville shows are some of the cheapest on the tour, with get in prices of $53, $65. and $80.
Having recently scored the highest first-week sales on the Billboard Top 200 since the heady early 2000s days of Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys and ‘N Sync with her fourth studio effort, Red, Taylor Swift is expected to become one of the highest-grossing touring acts of 2013. But there are still plenty of Taylor Swift tickets available for each show, and over 6000 remaining for the dates at Arlington’s Cowboys Stadium (May 25) and Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field (July 20).
An ever-present at the top of the Billboard charts since its release last November, the multi-million selling Red will inevitably make up the majority of the set-list, with her first US Hot 100 number one, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and follow-up “I Knew You Were Trouble” likely to inspire the biggest sing-alongs. But judging by previous tours, Swift doesn’t like to neglect her earlier material either, so count on the odd number from her self-titled 2006 debut alongside the biggest hits from 2008’s Fearless and 2010’s Speak Now such as “Love Story,” “You Belong With Me” and “Mine.”
