Made In America Festival Returns To Philadelphia

Following the sale of 50,000 Budweiser Made In America festival tickets in 2012, the festival curated by Jay-Z will return to Philadelphia later this year with another eclectic line-up of artists both established and emerging. Currently, we have just under 500 Made in America Festival tickets available with prices starting at $85 (avg price: $145).

Named after a track from the Jigga Man’s collaborative studio album with Kanye West, Watch The Throne, the two-day extravaganza will take place at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on the Labor Day weekend of August 31st-September 1st, having moved from its original location of Fairmount Park.

Although Jay-Z will not be performing at the Budweiser-sponsored event second time around, both his wife Beyonce and sister-in-law Solange have been confirmed to appear, with Nine Inch Nails joining the former Destiny’s Child star as the headline act.

Recently announced via a Spotify playlist, other star names on the bill include outspoken superstar DJ Deadmau5, stoner-rockers Queens Of The Stone Age, hip-hop veterans Public Enemy and heartland rock quartet The Gaslight Anthem.

Also appearing across the four stages (Rocky, Liberty, Freedom, Park) are in-demand producer Calvin Harris, Grammy-nominated R&B singer Miguel and rappers Wiz Khalifa and A$AP Rocky, while Australian synth-pop extroverts Empire Of The Sun and French new wave outfit Phoenix both return after long absences from the music scene.

Festivalgoers with Made In America tickets will also get the chance to check out a whole host of relative newcomers including the winners of the prestigious BBC Sound of 2013 poll, Haim, hotly-tipped post-R&B duo AlunaGeorge, the chart-topping Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, nu-folkers Imagine Dragons and British drum n’bass revivalists Rudimental.

Prior to the main event, which grossed over $5 million in ticket sales last year, Made In America will also head out onto the road for a series of 30 promotional dates featuring a wide range of upcoming acts such as instrumental hip-hop jazz collective Big Gigantic, Colorado electronic producer Paper Diamond and mash-up maestros White Panda.

While scheduled for release in the summer, a behind-the-scenes film, directed by Oscar winner Ron Howard and co-produced by Jay-Z, will document how the festival fared in its attempt to ‘break barriers’ during its inaugural appearance on the circuit.
