Prince Gets Intimate On Nine-City West Coast Club Tour

April 3, 2013

Renowned for his career-spanning three-hour sets and equally mammoth after-show jams, fans with Prince tickets for his new intimate West Coast club tour should experience one of the best value-for-money gigs of their lives.

Prince Tickets

Maintaining his prolific live reputation, the Purple One will play 34 dates over a four-week period and across nine cities, taking to the stage at both 8pm and 11.30 pm at each venue. Fresh from making their debut on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, Prince will also be joined by his new all-female backing band, 3rd Eye Girl, for the whole tour, which kicks off at Vancouver’s Vogue Theatre on April 15th.

The 54-year-old, who only returned to the Canadian stage last year following a decade’s absence, will then play a second gig  there the following night before moving on to Seattle’s Showbox At The Market. Prince tickets are still available on TicketIQ for the second performance on April 18th with a get-in price of $427 and an overall average price of $636 (compared to the tour average of $375), while there are around 50 seats remaining for both the early ($441/$672) and late ($431/$710) shows on April 19th.

Only a handful of Prince tickets are left for his 8pm slot at Portland’s Roseland Theater on April 21st ($325/$689). Elsewhere on TicketIQ, there are approximately 500 waiting to be snapped up for his four shows at Las Vegas’ The Joint on April 26th (earlier $148/$237, later $148/$209) and April 27th (earlier $120/$247, later $94/$215). While a figure of around 200 are still on sale for his four concerts at Tempe’s Marquee Theatre on April 30th (earlier $373/$492, later $345/$507) and May 1st (earlier $402/$546, later $345/$538).

After taking in San Diego’s Hard Rock Hotel Legends Ballroom on May 3rd and 4th and Anaheim’s The Grove on May 7th and 8th, Prince will then conclude the tour with four performances at Denver’s Ogden Theatre on May 12th and 13th, with seats available starting from $409.

The seven-time Grammy winner’s last major series of shows, the 83-date Welcome 2 world tour, included duets with Cyndi Lauper and Janelle Monae, a guest performance from ballet dancer Misty Copeland and jams with A-listers Naomi Campbell, Jamie Foxx and Alicia Keys.

Whether the star-studded quotient will be quite so high this time around remains to be seen. But judging by his recent well-received headline slot at SXSW Festival, fans with Prince tickets will be in for a treat regardless.

Alongside some of his best-loved classics (“1999,” “Purple Rain”), the musical maestro also showcased some of his more recent material (“Musicology,” “Satisfied”), paid homage to former touring partners The Time (“The Bird”) and Sheila E. (“The Glamorous Life”) and covered the likes of Janet Jackson’s “What Have You Done For Me Lately” and Aretha Franklin’s “I Never Loved A Man (The Way I Loved You).”
