Turning the concept of the conventional festival on its head, music fans across every state in the USA will get the chance to see a major-label artist on the same day with the release of Bud Light Music First tickets for its inaugural event.
Created in partnership with Live Nation, Universal Music Group and MySpace, the unique project will feature 50 different performances taking place in 50 different states within the same 24-hour-period of Thursday August 1 in an attempt to bring the idea of the festival to the people rather than the other way round.
With the full line-up, venues and times yet to be officially announced, Bud Light Music First tickets are so far unavailable on TicketIQ. But be sure to keep checking back for information on this one-off live experience.
26 artists have already confirmed their involvement in the whole setup, with psychedelic rock veterans The Flaming Lips, heartland rock quartet The Gaslight Anthem and prog-metal outfit Coheed & Cambria arguably the most high-profile names so far.
But there are several other acts scheduled to appear who aren’t exactly strangers to chart success, including Alex Clare, who recently scored a massive hit with “Too Close,” Kendrick Lamar, whose collaborations with Drake and Jay-Z both reached the US Hot 100 earlier this year, and British soul singer, Emeli Sande, currently in the Top 40 with “Next To Me.”
Metalheads Mastodon, alt-country quartet Drive-By Truckers, post-punk troubadour Frank Turner and his backing band, The Sleeping Souls, surf-rock duo Wavves, ska-punk trio Sublime With Rome, Brooklyn indie-rockers Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and modern-day bluesman Citizen Cope have all been added to the bill too.
Fans who pick up Bud Light Music First tickets will also be able to see other acts like The Airborne Toxic Event, The Dirty Heads, Capital Cities, Gogol Bordello, Halestorm, Guster, The Mowgli’s, Machine Head, Minus The Bear, Best Coast, The Hold Steady, Corey Smith and Portugal The Man.
