The Black Crowes & Neil Young Confirmed For 1st Interlocken Festival
June 12, 2013
America’s biggest jam bands will all head for Arrington, Virginia towards the end of this summer with the release of Interlocken Music Festival tickets for a unique new live experience aiming for quality over quantity.
Staged at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains on Oak Ridge Farm over the long weekend of September 5-8, the inaugural event will feature full two-hour sets that run back-to-back without any breaks in a move first pioneered by organiser Dave Frey at the H.O.R.D.E. festival back in 1992.
Many of the artists involved will also perform several times over the course of the four days, while those who get their hands on Interlocken Music Festival tickets will also get the chance to see various one-off collaborations.
Indeed, the frontman of Georgian country-folk outfit Zac Brown Band and bluegrass six-piece The String Cheese Incident have already confirmed that they will hook up together under the guise of Zac Brown Incident, as have Southern rock favourites Widespread Panic and former Creedence Clearwater Revival lead vocalist John Fogerty.
Fresh from their European tour, Neil Young & Crazy Horse will headline the festival with Atlanta blues-rockers The Black Crowes and San Francisco collective Furthur the other names officially scheduled to appear on the bill, with the latter also announcing that they will perform Grateful Dead’s fifth studio album, Workingman’s Dead, in its entirety during one of their three sets.
Interlocken Music Festival tickets for the environmentally-friendly spectacle, which will continue to add acts to its line-up over the next few months. Currently, we have just over 30 4-day passes available, with prices starting at $355. But keep checking back as more tickets become available for one of the more distinct new festivals on the US circuit this year.
