Lana Del Rey, The Postal Service & Eric Church Top List Of Lollapalooza Aftershows
August 1, 2013
With over three dozen aftershows confirmed to take place throughout the city this weekend, Chicago music fans without Lollapalooza tickets for the 17th annual festival can still get the chance to see their favorite acts on the bill.
The three-day event kicks off at Grant Park on August 2nd, but a huge number of artists on the line-up are also confirmed to appear at various officially-sanctioned evening shows before and during the same period.
Following on from the July 31 schedule of Thievery Corporation, Smith Westerns, Imagine Dragons and Timeflies, August 1 will see appearances from Queens Of The Stone Age at the Metro, Hot Chip at The Vic Theatre and Father John Misty at Lincoln Hall in addition to sets from the likes of Wild Nothing, Atlas Genius, Hiatus Kaiyote, Crystal Castles’ Ethan Kath and Rob Garza at various other venues.
Eric Church at the Metro, SBTRKT and Disclosure at The Mid and Unknown Mortal Orchestra at Empty Bottle are the ones to watch on Aug 2, with everyone from superstar DJs Steve Aoki and Flux Pavilion to indie-rockers Foals and Local Natives to experimental hip-hop trio Death Grips also getting in on the act on the same day.
Matt & Kim at The Vic Theatre, Kendrick Lamar at the Aragon Ballroom and Haim at Lincoln Hall are all booked in for Aug 3, as are shows from the likes of Two Door Cinema Club, Band Of Horses, Frightened Rabbit, DIIV and Adventure Club.
Concluding the official list, The Postal Service will play The Metro on August 4, just 24 hours after headlining the Bud Light Stage at the main festival, with other notable performances including Ellie Goulding at Studio Paris, Palma Violets at Schubas and Mercury Prize winners Alt-J at Lincoln Hall.
Unsurprisingly, most of these one-off gigs are sold-out, but there are still a handful of Lana Del Rey tickets available on TicketIQ for her show at the House of Blues on August 1 with a get-in price of $173 and average price of $421.
While there are also still thousands of Lollapalooza tickets remaining for the main event with three-day passes currently listed at $294/$404 and single day passes for August 2 (Nine Inch Nails, The Killers, New Order) at $163/$223, August 3 (The National, Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers) at $227/$308 and August 4 (Vampire Weekend, Phoenix, The Cure) at $99/$153.
