Thrash Metal Legends Slayer Return To North American Stage This Fall

Having vowed to carry on following the death of founding member Jeff Hanneman earlier this year, one of thrash metal’s big four will return to the North American stage this fall with the release of Slayer tickets for a 25-date tour.

The Californian outfit, who alongside Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax have dominated the scene since the early 80s, will first join British rock legends Iron Maiden for a series of dates across South America in September before kicking off their own run of headline shows at Anchorage’s George M. Sullivan Sports Arena on October 22.

Filling in for their late guitarist, Exodus’ Gary Holt and the more permanent line-up of Tom Araya, Kerry King and Paul Bostaph will then head to The Joint at Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Oct 25 (TicketIQ get-in price $124/average price $124) before taking in the likes of Houston’s Bayou Music Center on November 12 ($70/$111), Detroit’s The Fillmore on November 16 ($108/$108) and Wallingford’s Toyota Presents The Oakdale Theatre on November 26 ($85/$93), eventually wrapping up at the Paul E. Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell on November 30.

With an overall average tour price of $98, there are still hundreds of Slayer tickets waiting to be snapped up on TicketIQ with the November 29 gig at Camden’s Susquehanna Bank Center currently the lowest get-in price at $36 (average price $90) and the November 17 performance at Columbus’ Lifestyles Communities Pavilion the cheapest average price at $89 (get-in price $71).

Alongside support slots from French quartet Gojira and Australian metalheads 4ARM, fans with Slayer tickets should also look forward to a career-spanning show with the band’s recent European festival sets covering everything from 1983 debut Show No Mercy (“Die By The Sword”) right up to their last studio effort, 2009’s World Painted Blood, (“Hate Worldwide”) including the Grammy-nominated “Disciple” and signature hits “Raining Blood” and “Angel Of Death.”
