Week six in the NFL was one of the most backward weeks, at least statistically speaking. Long thought to be dead, running back Brandon Jacobs came back to life with the New York Giants, rushing for over 100 yards and two touchdowns. But the craziness of week six didn’t stop there.
Little known players were dominant forces in big wins and competitive outings. Thad Lewis came out out of nowhere (Buffalo’s practice squad, actually) to score three touchdowns and force overtime. Backup tight end Joseph Fauria scored three touchdowns to help the Detroit Lions to a win. And in a week that saw Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Andrew Luck, Tony Romo, Philip Rivers and Aaron Rodgers combine for just six touchdowns, the likes of Nick Foles and Mike Glennon combined for just as many in the very same game.
And that was week six. Needless to say, the 2013 NFL season is gaining momentum. And while it’s not always necessarily as we planned it, it’s still at least extremely entertaining.
