2014 NHL and NBA Arena Seating Chart Breakdown

February 4, 2014

Seasons for both the NBA and NHL are in full swing and arenas across the country are filling with fans on a nightly basis for basketball and hockey games. The NBA is heading towards All-Star Weekend and the NHL is about to take a break for the Olympics. Both of those events will halt play for a period of time, but excitement is sure to pick up as games resume for the second half of each season. Plenty of fans will be looking to purchase second half tickets for the rest of the season, but before they do they should check out the arena seating charts at TicketIQ.

The Staples Center in Los Angeles is the only arena in the country to support three teams from these two leagues. The Lakers and Clippers share the arena for NBA games and the ice needs to come out for the Kings. With so much action going on at this time, Staples Center is one of the most visited arenas in the country. Before grabbing Lakers tickets, Clippers tickets or Kings tickets, fans should visit the Staples Center seating chart to get the best idea of where each seat in the stadium is located.

Screen shot at 2014-02-04 3.22.56 PMStaples Center may hold more sporting events during the season, but Madison Square Garden is still known as the World’s Most Famous Arena. The Garden plays host to the New York Rangers in the NHL and New York Knicks in the NBA, both selling out a majority of their games with high ticket demand. The Madison Square Garden seating chart will help fans get the best seats for Rangers and Knicks games. Both teams will be pushing for the playoffs in the second half of the season, making finding the optimum seat even more important for all upcoming games.

Over in Brooklyn, the Nets have made a home at the Barclays Center. Barclays is one of the few major arenas to only host one professional team, but starting in 2015 the New York Islanders will be moving their NHL home games from Long Island to Brooklyn. For now, though, the Nets have the arena to themselves. The Nets have been playing well since 2014 started and Nets tickets have been in demand since. The Barclays Center seating chart will give all Nets fans the best views to decide where to sit during the games.

Down in Philadelphia, the Flyers and 76ers play in the Wells Fargo Center. Neither the Sixers or Flyers are currently having their best season, but the fans in Philly are still coming out to support both teams. The Flyers have played much better since a slow start to the season. The Sixers are admittedly in the middle of a rebuilding project. Still, the fans in Philadelphia are some of the most passionate in all of sports. Those same fans need to check out the Wells Fargo Center seating chart before purchasing Sixers or Flyers tickets this season.

Washington has a similar issue with their two teams underperforming this season, but there are bright spots with both the Capitals and Wizards. The Capitals sit in fifth place of the Metropolitan division, but have one of the best players in the league in Alexander Ovechkin. Ovechkin leads in the NHL in goals with 39 and the next closest player has 30. The Wizards are hovering around .500, but because of the quality of play in the Eastern Conference would make them the No. 5 seed in the playoffs. Both teams sneaking into the playoffs would be a boost for the arena with the Verizon Center seating chart being the best place to plan a ticket purchase.

Perhaps no arena has seen more successful play over the years than Chicago’s United Center. The United Center is home to both the Bulls, who dominated most of the ‘90s, and the recent success of the Blackhawks in the NHL. The Blackhawks have the second best record in the Western Conference and Blackhawks tickets have been the most expensive in the NHL all season. The Bulls saw a hit when Derrick Rose was lost for the season, but the fans have still been supporting the team. With the Blackhawks playing so well, it’s possible the arena could have another championship banner raised in the rafters at the start of next season. For any fan looking to go to Chicago, the United Center seating chart would be the best place to start.

As the second halves of the NHL and NBA seasons get going, ticket demand will surely continue to go up. For all of your ticket needs, TicketIQ is the best place to go with the arena seating charts giving fans a great way to get the best deals on ticket purchases.
