Check Out the Mohegan Sun Arena for 2014's Hottest Performances
March 5, 2014
The Mohegan Sun Arena was built back in 2001, almost 15 years ago. The 10,000 seat multipurpose arena originally housed the Mohegan Wolves of the Arena Football league, but the team eventually left only two years later. However, they soon found a new tenant with the Connecticut Sun moving in for the 2003 season.
Since that time, the Connecticut Sun have been the primary tenant, but there have been countless concerts and other events that have taken place since its opening. 2014 is certainly no different with several high-profile events having already taken place this year and a few more to come.
Since the start of the year, Jay-Z, Luke Bryan, Marc Anthony, and Kanye West have all taken the stage at the Mohegan Sun Arena, and performers of similar talent are soon to come. Over the next week or so, the AAC Women’s Conference Tournament will be taking place with #1 seeded UConn looking to continue their dominant play this season. Mohegan Sun Arena tickets for the AAC Tournament begin at only $35 for the championship, with an average ticket price of $73.
Once the basketball season finishes up, there will be a steady dose of events, including concerts by Darius Rucker and Cher within the next month. May appears to be the month with the most activity with Lady gaga coming to town for a May 10th show, followed a few days later by The Killers. Then, on the 17th and 18th of May, Bruce Springsteen will be performing. The average ticket price is over $400 for those two shows, one of the most expensive tickets available.
The summer also includes acts from Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, and Sarah McLachlan so make sure to check out the Mohegan Sun Arena during 2014 to see plenty of fun and entertaining concerts and events!
