Forbes: 2014 NCAA Tournament Tickets Are 32% More Expensive Than 2013

Recently we published a Forbes article breaking down prices for 2014 NCAA tournament tickets and how they compared to 2013. Currently, prices are 32% more expensive than last year. Here's a breakdown of why prices are more expensive and what venues are the most expensive:
As soon as the final buzzer sounded in the last conference tournament game, all eyes were on the NCAA tournament bracket. In addition to impacting placement and seeding NCAA tournament tickets were impacted as well. With the bracket finally set, fans with travel intentions to see their favorite team or alma mater can finally begin mapping an itinerary. After the selection show on Sunday night the average price for NCAA tournament tickets across all sessions rose 8.17% on the secondary market. The average tournament-wide ticket price is currently $316.25, which is the highest tournament average since TicketIQ has been tracking tournament data and 32.01% higher than 2013’s average and 47.11% above 2012’s. In addition to the secondary market, primary tickets are also available for most rounds, however, you’ll be left to choose from upper level seats in most cases.
