A Look At The Blackhawks Top 5 Remaining Games
March 11, 2014
With just a month remaining in the regular season, the Chicago Blackhawks will be starting a push towards the playoffs. Currently second in the Central Division and the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference, Chicago is a lock to make the playoffs, but still have a chance to move up in seeding. All season long, Blackhawks tickets have been the most expensive in the NHL and that will hold through the team’s final nine regular season home games. The top five remaining games see some familiar opponents, with four coming against teams within the division.
3/16/14 vs Detroit Red Wings | Avg. Price $376.88 | Get-in Price $150
The rivalry between these two teams has been altered due to Detroit’s shift to the Eastern Conference, but a late season matchup still excites Blackhawks fans. With both the highest average and get-in price remaining for the regular season at the United Center, one of the best rivalries in hockey gets a chance to stay alive.
4/6/14 vs St. Louis Blues | Avg. Price $315.04 | Get-in Price $112
The Blues currently lead the Central Division and got stronger at the trade deadline after acquiring goalie Ryan Miller from Buffalo. In four games, the Blues have not lost a game with Miller in net. This will be the second to last home game of the season and the two points awarded in this game could be a big factor in playoff seeding.
3/14/14 vs Nashville Predators | Avg. Price $294.91 | Get-in Price $130
Nashville, on the other hand, sits at the bottom of the Central at the moment. Some of the boost to the average and get-in price could be attributed to the Patrick Kane bobblehead that will be given out to the fans in attendance.
3/19/14 vs St. Louis Blues | Avg. Price $280.77 | Get-in Price $78
The Blackhawks and Blues meet twice during the remainder of the regular season, both of which are in Chicago. This is the first of those two games. Chicago has yet to beat St. Louis this season, losing once in regulation and twice in a shootout. The get-in price is the lowest for the top remaining games.
4/9/14 vs Montreal Canadiens | Avg. Price $269.34 | Get-in Price $82
This will be the last home game of the regular season. It won’t get the bump some other regular season finales will see because Blackhawks fans can be assured of home playoff games this season. Another giveaway, this time golf towels, add some demand to these tickets, though the get-in price remains under $100.
Chicago will be making the playoffs again this season and ticket prices will likely skyrocket for those games. For those fans not able to get playoff tickets, the final regular season home games should be a relatively good deal compared to what it could cost to see games in the postseason.
