Nine Inch Nails & Soundgarden Hint At Co-Headlining Tour

(UPDATE) Nine Inch Nails and Sound Garden rock bands have decided to settle their differences as the two rivals will team up and co headline a US tour this summer. The tour will see lead singer and song writer of Nine Inch Nails Trent Renzor and crew perform their latest album “Hesitation Marks” and Sound Garden will be playing their record “SuperKnown” as part of their 20th Anniversary celebration since the record has been released.  More tour dates have been added to the west coast as both bands will be performing in various cities in California beginning on August 21st through the 27th.  They will be performing that week in Chula Vista, Irvine, Mountain View, Los Angeles, and Sacramento California.

.....

Two of the mid-90s fiercest rock rivals are now rumored to be on the verge of releasing Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden tickets for a co-headlining tour after they both uploaded similarly mysterious teaser videos to their respective Instagram accounts.

The two brief clips, both of which feature fast-moving images of various cities and music venues, were unveiled shortly after Livenation.com briefly posted news of a joint date in Dallas on August 17, adding fuel to the fire that an official tour announcement is due any time soon.

Nine Inch Nails, who are currently on tour Down Under with Queens Of The Stone Age, and Soundgarden, who are set to play at SXSW’s iTunes Festival tomorrow night, have had something of a history ever since the latter’s commercial breakthrough, Superunknown, pipped the former’s sophomore, The Downward Spiral, to the US number one spot back in 1994.

In 2009, Trent Reznor revealed that he developed a chip on his shoulder following the chart battle and became determined to outdo the grunge quartet when they shared a stage at Ontario’s Molson Park in the same year. While he later described Chris Cornell’s 2009 solo effort, Scream, as ‘embarrassing’ before mocking his decision to work with Timbaland in a spoof April Fool’s Day project entitled Strobe Light.

But if the whispers are true, then the two outfits appear to have buried the hatchet, with one observant Reddit user identifying 18 venues in the Instagram footage that could possibly feature in the tour including Las Vegas’ Planet Hollywood, Boston’s XFinity Centre and Morrison’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Fans may have to wait a little longer for any official news. But in the meantime they can get their hands on Soundgarden tickets on TicketIQ for their July 4 performance at the Sasquatch! Music Festival (get-in price $315/average price $517, three-day passes $324/$560). While Nine Inch Nails tickets are available for several of their European dates including London’s O2 Arena on May 23 ($259/$277), Paris’ Le Zenith on May 29 ($164/$206) and Zurich’s Hallenstadion on June 4 ($201/$230).
