Previewing The Royals Top 5 Games Of The Year
March 11, 2014
With each spring comes the return of birds, the sun and most importantly baseball. We are presently right in the middle of Spring Training and less than three weeks away from Opening Day and the start of the regular season. As we are about to begin a new season fans are ripe with anticipation and hope that this will finally be the year that they end the playoff drought in Kansas City who quietly put together a solid 86 wins last year. This year the Royals enter with their core players still on the roster and added the likes of Omar Infante and Norichika Aoki to fill some of their holes. For the upcoming 2014 MLB season Kansas City Royals tickets are averaging the reasonable $72 for their home games, but some of their games have seen ticket prices more than double. Here we will cover the Kansas City Royals Top 5 Games of 2014:
4/4 vs Chicago White Sox Avg $174 / Get-in $69
Ironically the Kansas City Royals most expensive home game of the year is their first one. The Royals Home Opener takes the top spot on our list as fans will be eager to be there when they finally kick off the new season. Royals tickets for this game on April 4th are averaging $174 for an increase of 142% but you can still Get-in for $69.
6/5 vs St. Louis Cardinals Avg $124 / Get-in $34
Our second most expensive Royals game of the year experiences quite a drop off from number one on our list as this game is going for $50 less than Kansas City’s Opening Day Game. This June 5th game will be played against the St. Louis Cardinals for which fans can find tickets going for $124 but some are going for as low as just $34.
9/13 vs Boston Red Sox Avg $121 / Get-in $27
The defending World Series Champion Boston Red Sox take the third spot in our list as they will make a late season stop in Kansas City. The Red Sox should be in the thick of the hunt for the AL East title this season which makes this game very important to them. Tickets for this September 13th meeting are going for $121 on average with a Get-in of $27.
6/7 vs New York Yankees Avg $117 / Get-in $34
It has long ago been proven that when the New York Yankees come to your town both attendance and ticket prices will surely increase. This continues to be the case yet again for when the Bronx Bomber make their trip out to Kansas City to play the Royals it will be the fourth most expensive game of the season in KC. Royals tickets to see the Derek Jeter in his final season are averaging $117 on the secondary market with a Get-in of $34.
6/28 vs Los Angeles Angels Avg $116 / Get-in $12 / James Shields Bobblehead Night
Coming in just a fraction behind the Yankees game is the Royals game against the Angels three weeks later on June 28th. When Los Angeles comes to the midwest for this matchup it will be pitcher James Shields Bobblehead Night at the ballpark which has put this game into the final spot on our list coming in at an average ticket price of $116 with a very cheap Get-in of just $12.
