Forbes: After Rescheduled Concerts, Lady Gaga Tickets Selling For Below Tour Average

With the Washington Wizards have a somewhat surprising run in the NBA playoffs, Lady Gaga had to reschedule her DC concert later this week. The concert was moved to Philly's Well's Fargo Center while a later date in Philly was moved to DC. With the rescheduling, ticket prices for both shows dropped below the average price of the Lady Gaga tour. Here's some more on this story via Forbes:

When concert dates were scheduled for Lady Gaga’s “ARTPOP Ball” tour, no one was expecting the Washington Wizards to still be hanging around in the NBA Playoffs. As the Wizards advanced past the Chicago Bulls into the second round against the Indiana Pacers, a conflict of dates at the Verizon Center arose. Lady Gaga was scheduled to perform at the arena on May 15, the same date as a potential game 6 between the Wizards and Pacers. A scheduling crisis was averted by swapping the dates of Gaga’s show in Philadelphia, scheduled for Monday night, and the show in D.C. According to TicketIQ, the date switch has led to a decrease in ticket prices on the secondary market for both shows.

The average secondary market price for Lady Gaga tickets across all dates on “ARTPOP Ball” is $212.88, but both of these upcoming shows fall below the tour average. Monday night at the Verizon Center has an average price of $149.93, 29.5% below the tour average and 14% lower than the price before the date was switched.

Luckily for Lady Gaga and the Verizon Center, the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia was free of sporting events with the Philadelphia 76ers missing the NBA Playoffs and the Philadelphia Flyers getting eliminated from the NHL Playoffs. Thursday night’s concert in Philadelphia has an average price of just $106.83, 49.8% below the tour average and the cheapest date on the tour.

The funny thing about the whole situation is that the Wizards likely won't even end up playing that game six since they're down 3-1 to the Pacers and all signs point to a game 5 loss ending their season. Click here to read the rest of the article.
