Before the Mars Volta, before Rush became progressive rock gods, there was King Crimson. Hailing from London, King Crimson the prog rock progenitors released their legendary debut In The Court of The Crimson King in 1969 and have been touring on and off ever since.
They last went on hiatus in 2008 but returned late last year. Though guitarist Robert Fripp is the only original band member all the touring members of King Crimson have been around for several year so fans should expect to see familiar faces if they caught them on their last tour. This September the band will head out on tour for the rest of 2014 starting on the 9th and 10th with a pair of shows in Albany, New York at the Egg. The shows in Boston at the Colonial Theatre on the 15th and 16th have the cheapest average price for King Crimson tickets at $164.85, much cheaper than the tour average of $282.91. The band will also play three New York City shows on the 18th, 19th, and 20th at the Best Buy Theater.
King Crimson will play Chicago on the 25th and 26th at the Vic and a pair of Los Angeles shows at the Orpheum Theatre on September 30th and October 1st. On October 3rd and 4th King Crimson plays the Warfield Theater in San Francisco before ending their fall tour on the 6th at the Moore Theatre in Seattle, Washington.
