Louis CK, Amy Schumer, Aziz Ansari, Just Some Of The Big Names On 2014 Oddball Comedy Tour

June 26, 2014

Call it the Lollapalooza of comedy. Online comedy hub Funny or Die has announced the second installment of its annual Oddball Comedy and Curiosity Festival, which will bring 25 of the industry’s top comics including Louis C.K. and Aziz Ansari to 21 U.S. cities from August 8-September 21. Oddball comedy tour tickets go on sale this Saturday, June 28.

Having just wrapped up a new season of one of the funniest shows on TV, FX hit comedy Louie, Louie C.K. leads a hefty comedy bill brimming with talent. Aziz Ansari, best known as the loveable Tom Haverford from NBC series Parks & Recreation as well as parts in films such as Funny People, is another major get for the festival. Comedy veteran Dave Attell, star of 2000s-era Comedy Central juggernaut Insomniac With Dave Attell, also joins the lineup.

But the laughs don’t stop there. Sarah Silverman takes a break from skewering every taboo known to man to join the festival as one of the biggest names on the bill. As does Marc Maron, star of the hilarious IFC show Maron and a veteran comic who rose to fame with his twice-weekly podcast titled WTF With Marc Maron — in which he discusses intimate details of his life with other comics and celebrities.

The Daily Show With Jon Stewart will be well-represented as well, with previous Daily Show correspondent and frequent Funny or Die contributor Demetri Martin on the bill as well as The Daily Show’s newest correspondent Michael Che, whose fake interview with Dick Cheney was a recent highlight of the show.

As usual, Comedy Central is playing a big part in the festival, with @midnight host Chris Hardwick joining the festivities in addition to Amy Schumer, star of new Comedy Central show Inside Amy Schumer. Not to mention Brody Stevens, orchestrator of the unclassifiable Brody Stevens: Enjoy It, who will be hosting a second comedy stage at the festival.

Other rising stars include Chris D’Elia, star of new NBC comedy series Undateable and former star of NBC’s Whitney — in which he co-starred with Whitney Cummings, who is also on the Oddball Comedy and Curiosity Festival bill. Also along for the ride is the always-unpredictable comic/musician Reggie Watts, who frequently appears on the IFC series Comedy Bang! Bang!

The Oddball Comedy and Curiosity Festival was founded in 2013, headlined by reclusive comic/former Comedy Central megastar Dave Chappell and Flight of the Conchords, stars of the late-2000s cult hit HBO show of the same name. Funny or Die was founded in 2007 by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s production company, Gary Sanchez Productions, as is perhaps most famous for airing Zach Galifianakis’s “Between Two Ferns” interview with President Obama in March.
