Top 5 Broadway Tickets Of The Week (7/28)
July 28, 2014
There’s been no change to the order on this week’s top five. While Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Kinky Boots and Motown have been regulars on this list, the same five have almost never stayed on the list two weeks in a row and certainly not in the same order. But this week has seen no change in ranking from 1-5. Also, like last week, it doesn’t make sense to wait on buying these tickets. Prices have steadily increased all week for all five shows.
1) 7/31 - Hedwig and the Angry Inch | Avg. Price: $1,414.15 | Get-in Price: $204
Ticket prices for the July 31 show have increased 25 percent over the last week, the largest increase of any show this week. Hedwig and the Angry Inch tickets are averaging $1,414.15, or more than double what the second show on the list is costing. The get-in price is also the largest of the week at $204.
2) 7/30 - Kinky Boots | Avg. Price: $516.96 | Get-in Price: $81
While Kinky Boots has the second largest average of any show this week, the get-in price is actually the smallest on the list. At $81, Kinky Boots tickets are the only show on the list with a ticket cheaper than $100. The average price of the show is $516.96.
3) 8/2 - Motown | Avg. Price: $488.94 | Get-in Price: $102
The smallest price increase of the week is Motown, which saw prices rise just 10 percent over the course of the week. Motown tickets are averaging $488.95 and have a get-in price of $102.
4) 8/3 - Lion King | Avg. Price: $433.32 | Get-in Price: $130
The Lion King has certainly gotten comfortable on this list. It seems the summer months have revived interest in the classic show, as it ranks fourth with an average price of $433.32. Lion King tickets have a get-in price of $130.
5) 7/30 - Wicked | Avg. Price: $398.10 | Get-in Price: $136
While Wicked once again just barely makes the list, it has the second largest get-in price of any show. The cheapest Wicked tickets for the show are $136, the second straight week Wicked has only trailed Hedwig and the Angry Inch. The average price for the show has increased 18 percent over the course of the week and currently sits at $398.10
