Not much has changed on this last from last week, except the return of an old Broadway classic, the Lion King. The Disney adaptation has had a surge in the summer, making the top five a couple weeks before. Overall, average prices are down a bit from last week, with the only exception belonging to Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
7/9 Hedwig and the Angry Inch | Avg. Price: $2,186.98 | Get-in Price: $176
It’s been at or near the top of the list every week since it’s official opening. The Tony Award winner is averaging a whopping $2,186.98 for tickets for the July 9th show. That’s with Hedwig and the Angry Inch tickets rising 22 percent over the last week. The get-in price for the show is less than in the past, though, at just $176.
7/10 Kinky Boots | Avg. Price: $443.02 | Get-in Price: $129
If there is one constant with the top five it is this show. Kinky Boots tickets have been on this list almost every week since the show opened over a year ago. Tickets are averaging $443.02 for the July 10th show with a get-in price of $129.
7/9 Book of Mormon | Avg. Price: $397.64 | Get-in Price: $163
Book of Mormon has mounted a bit of a comeback. Despite being one of the most popular show, and hardest tickets to get, the musical has missed the top five a frequent amount this year. But this marks the second straight week Book of Mormon tickets are in the top five. The average price is $397.64 after a 10 percent increase over the week. The get-in price is the second highest on the list at $163.
7/12 Motown | Avg. Price: $382.51 | Get-in Price: $106
Motown has only seen a modest increase in price over the week. Motown tickets are up just three percent for an average price of $382.51. The musical has a get-in price of $106, which is the lowest on the list.
7/10 Lion King | Avg. Price: $344.86 | Get-in Price: $140
Lastly it’s the Lion King making its triumphant return. The Lion King is easily the longest running show on this list, and Lion King tickets are averaging $344.86 for the July 10th show. That’s even with a six percent decrease in ticket prices over the week. The get-in price is $140.
