The Chicago Bears looked set up to make a playoff run in 2013, but a Jay Cutler return late in the year wasn’t enough to hold off the division rival Packers. Thanks to already possessing an elite offense, though, Chicago could merely be an improved defense away from returning to post-season play.
That might be a little easier said than done, however, as Da Bears have to brave the storms of a fairly competitive NFC North. In addition, the Chicago Bears schedule outside of the division isn’t a powder puff slate, as they have to take on the likes of the 49ers, Panthers, Falcons, Patriots, Cowboys and Saints over the course of the season. Offensively, Chicago seems to have the goods to go toe to toe with just about anyone. The difference will be whether or not the shaky defense from 2013 is still the one they go to battle with in 2014.
