Previewing The 2014 Detroit Lions Schedule

New head coach Jim Caldwell aims to instill balance and better fundamentals on offense in 2013, with a hopefully more efficient Detroit offense helping a solid defense get even better. The Lions are a classic “toss up” team heading into 2014, but also have the talent to make a leap in Caldwell’s first year with the team.

While there is definitely some realistic optimism, the Detroit Lions schedule should still present a fair amount of obstacles. The Panthers, Saints and Falcons are potentially tough matchups early in the year, while clashes with the Patriots and Cardinals could be trouble after Detroit’s week nine bye.
