Lambeau Field Seating Chart & Info

August 15, 2014

One of the most historic venues in the league is Lambeau Field. The home of the Green Bay Packers is the oldest continuous stadium in the entire NFL, and only two sporting facilities have been around in the United States for longer. Those two are Fenway Park in Boston and Wrigley Field in Chicago. While Chicago Bears home Soldier Field was built before Lambeau, it was not always the home for the Bears.

Despite its age, Lambeau Field is still one of the largest venues in the league. Thanks to continuous additions to the venue, the Lambeau Field seating chart can hold over 80,000 people. Originally, when the field opened in the late 1950s, it held less than 40,000 people. The most recent addition was this past year when 7,500 more seats were added, in addition to an updated scoreboard, and a few other additions. There are more renovations coming, with the team wanting to add an atrium to the stadium in the upcoming seasons.

But despite the constant growth of the field, it remains one of the hardest tickets to purchase. Tickets sell out for every game, and they are the only team in the league that has never had to worry about the local blackout rules. The waiting list for season tickets is still extremely long, and the expected waiting time is decades long.

It certainly makes sense with the Packers one of the best teams in all of sports. In football there is no team with more combined championships than the Packers. While the Steelers have more Super Bowls than them, the Packers won several NFL Championships before the AFL-NFL merger. They’re still highly successful today, remaining the class of the NFC North after the transition from Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is arguably the best quarterback in today’s NFL.

The Packers are also the only professional sports franchise located in Green Bay. While the state of Wisconsin has other teams – such as the Brewers and Bucks – those teams are located in Milwaukee, instead of small town Green Bay. Even Madison, WI is a high-profileer city. Green Bay is probably the smallest town with a football team in the entire country.

Lambeau Field is one of the most historic fields in the entire country. It hosts one of the premier sport franchises in the Green Bay Packers, but while it is certainly old it is not exactly outdated. The team has updated it periodically throughout it’s existence, and it remains one of the best places to catch a game.
