Top 5 Broadway Tickets Of The Week (8/25)

Prices continue to fall for Broadway shows as the summer wanes. Only two shows this week even top a $400 average, and the top show’s get-in price is below $100. Overall, the list is the same order as last week’s with Hedwig and the Angry Inch once again absent from the top spot.
8/29 Kinky Boots | Avg. Price: $407.41 | Get-in Price: $98
At just a $407.41 average Kinky Boots is the most expensive show this week. Kinky Boots tickets only have a get-in price of $98, which is the lowest on the list this week. This is with prices climbing 11 percent since the start of last week.
8/31 Hedwig and the Angry Inch | Avg. Price: $406.39 | Get-in Price: $114
For the second week in a row Hedwig and the Angry Inch tickets are second on the list. After easily topping the list for weeks, prices have started to even out, mostly due to the departure of Neil Patrick Harris as the lead role. The role will now be played by Andrew Rannells. The show saw the largest increase of the week at 12 percent, but still has low prices. Their get-in price of $114 is just the third highest on the list, and the average of $406.39 is less than half of what they used to average.
8/31 Motown | Avg. Price: $383.93 | Get-in Price: $98
There was no price trend this week for Motown, but it made the list once again. The get-in price is $98, tied with Kinky Boots for the lowest get-in price of the week. Motown tickets are averaging $383.93 this week.
8/28 Lion King | Avg. Price: $343.92 | Get-in Price: $141
While the Lion King is fourth on the list, the show has the second highest get-in price at $141. Lion King tickets are also up six percent from last week for an average of $343.92.
8/29 A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder | Avg. Price: $343.71 | Get-in Price: $218
The final show on the list is just a bit cheaper than the Lion King, with a $343.71 average. The get-in price is easily the most expensive, though, with the cheapest ticket costing $218. A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder tickets were the only ones to drop in price over the course of the week, with a nine percent drop.
