Usher Launches The UR Experience Tour
August 29, 2014
Fresh from stealing the show at the MTV Video Music Awards, the King of R&B has now revealed that Usher tickets will soon go on sale for a North American tour dubbed The UR Experience.
The eight-time Grammy winner, who performed current single, “She Came To Give It To You,” with Nicki Minaj at last Sunday’s ceremony, will embark on his first major trek since his 92-date OMG world tour back in 2010/11 in support of his forthcoming as-yet-untitled eighth studio album.
Specific details are currently thin on the ground with venues and dates yet to be confirmed, but Usher has announced 26 cities which he will be visiting, with the likes of Los Angeles, Seattle, Atlanta, Detroit, Philadelphia, Boston, Las Vegas, Orlando, Memphis, Tampa and Miami all on the itinerary as well as Canadian dates in Vancouver, Montreal, Edmonton and Toronto.
In addition to premiering a brand new track, “Believe Me,” this week, the nine-time US chart-topper also unveiled a black-and-white Rocky-inspired promo, which sees him training in preparation for the tour by running, skipping and showing off some classic Usher dance moves.
The 35-year-old, who was forced to cancel his 2012 Euphoria tour due to his coaching commitments on NBC’s The Voice, recently treated those with Usher tickets for his show at Milwaukee’s Summerfest to a hit-packed set spanning from his 1997 sophomore My Way right up to 2012’s Looking 4 Myself including his breakthrough hit “You Make Me Wanna,” his number ones “U Remind Me,” “U Got It Bad” and “Yeah!,” and solo renditions of his collaborations with Alicia Keys (“My Boo”), will.i.am (“OMG”) and Pitbull (“DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love”).
Further information about the tour is expected to be revealed over the next few weeks, but in the meantime, fans can get their hands on Usher tickets on TicketIQ for his performance at Fashion Rocks 2014 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on September 9 (get-in price $43) and his headline set at the iHeartRadio Music Festival at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sept 19 ($227).
